Main Call for papers Programme Abstracts

The First International Workshop of the Systemic Functional Research Community on Interpersonal and Ideational Grammar was devoted to interpersonal grammar, more specifically issues such as semantic prosody, appraisal theory, and scope and framing as resources expressing the interpersonal semiotic.

The workshop, convened by Kristin Davidse, was held from 16 to 18 November 2000 at the University of Leuven. Its venue was the House of Chièvres in the Leuven Beguinage.

Participants from international research centres included James Benson (York University-Glendon College), Marta Carettero (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), Eirian Davies (University of London), Alexanne Don (University of Birmingham), Angela Downing (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), Henrike Körner (University of Sydney), William B. McGregor (University of Aarhus), Robert Spence (Universität des Saarlandes), Erich Steiner (Universität des Saarlandes), Paul J. Thibault (University of Venice), Geoff Thompson (University of Liverpool), Gordon Tucker (Cardiff University), and Peter White (University of Birmingham).
